What are the responsibilities and job description for the Imaging Scheduler - Part-Time position at Center for Neurosciences?
Scheduled weekly hours:
Tuesday through Friday: 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
and every other Saturday: 7:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
General Summary:
A nonexempt position responsible for scheduling appointments for the imaging department and a variety of other office functions.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Accurately screens and schedules patients for Imaging Center with an interdisciplinary team focus.
2. Greets patients on the phone and in-person in a warm, cheerful and professional manner.
3. Answers phone in a timely, professional manner that meets department protocols.
4. Obtains required information on patients insurance with focus on accuracy. Obtains insurance authorizations and schedules appointments. Verifies referrals match the physician orders.
5. Checks EHR for accuracy. Obtains additional information as needed to process patient.
6. Sends letters to patients with pertinent information when unable to contact patient by phone.
7. Consistently performs administrative tasks related to clinical services.
8. Assists MRI Techs as needed.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
Experience: Minimum one year of recent administrative medical experience or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by the Imaging Supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Work Environment: Position is in an office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 80 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder with light lifting (10-30 lbs.) occasionally required.
