Job Description

The primary purpose of the job position is to transport residents to their necessary appointments.

As our van driver, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out your assigned duties.

Responsibilities include:

-Operate vehicle in safe manner and in accordance with all PA traffic laws and facility policy.

-Log pre and post trip inspection of the bus with Maintenance

-Escorts resident into medical office and monitors resident in waiting area if needed.

-Assures that all records, consultation forms, follow up appointments and written information is given to Charge Nurse for resident.

-Schedules with Recreational Therapy Director trips for residents.

-Assists residents with basic first aid while out of the facility.

-Records daily vehicle trips on the vehicle log form and trip sheet.

-Submits, in writing, to the Director of Plant Operations and Supervisor, all vehicle malfunctions and damage.

-Maintains a clean bus interior.

-Notifies facility immediately of resident status change, accidents or any emergency situations via cellular phone.

-Treats other employees with dignity and respect.

Education

Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma. Must possess a valid PA Drivers License. 

Experience

Must have, as a minimum, a three months to one year of experience.
