Center of Family Love (CFL) in Okarche, OK is a faith-based, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides residential and employment programs for adults with intellectual disabilities by cultivating their interests, skills and independence to live creative, productive and joyous lives. We are located 30 minutes west of north Oklahoma City.
Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Programs Coordinator works to develop the untapped talents of our Individuals at the Center of Family Love through specialized programs curriculum. The Programs Coordinator helps to teach staff in their on-going efforts to stimulate skills development and positive engagement for individuals with different abilities by using a person-centered, strength-based approach. The Programs Coordinator also leads in teaching programs classes throughout the week.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the on-going training of the Program’s staff, QIDPs, and Direct Care Staff in methods that further stimulate individualized programming to enhance and develop the skills of the Individuals.
- Responsible for administering center-based and pre-vocational programs. Communicates regularly with the Director of Programs to ensure coordination and consistency in service delivery.
- Responsible for tracking the weekly hours of the residents in programming.
- Manages the art barn pottery including supplies and operation of kiln.
- Trains existing and new staff on how to lead and facilitate curriculum and identifies potential teachers for each program.
- Helps to lead program classes throughout the week for adults with developmental disabilities.
- Ensures that both the vocational and day programming hours meet the requirements for the Enhanced Payment Program each quarter through effective documentation of time studies.
- Documents attendance and engagement weekly for the residents attending programming.
- Responsible for growing in knowledge of varying levels of language disorders, processing deficits, intellectual levels, behavioral/emotional/social disorders, and physical (including sensory) disabilities have on an individual’s learning, behavior, and ability.
- Works to reinforce skills and talent development based on individual interests and abilities by acuity level.
- Encourages individual progress by building valuable relationships with the residents, working with them to identify their specific skill sets and matching them appropriately with center-based programs.
- Understands the aspects of schedules, routines, and transitions that promote healthy development and learning unique to our population.
- Responsible for administering center-based and pre-vocational programs.
- Coordinates with the Programs staff to identify and resolve issues which may affect Programs such as staffing levels and financial resources. Maintains standards of quality and structure for performance and production goals.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of materials and supplies to assure continuous production and avoid interruption in meeting objectives.
- Other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Qualifications:
- An Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, General or Special Education or related field preferred.
- 2-10 years of relevant experience working in programming and/or with adults with developmental disabilities.
- Experience with ceramics and operation of pottery kiln highly prefered.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
