About this role:
Centerbase’s Controller oversees all company accounting operations. The Controller is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the monthly close process. Additionally, the role involves the preparation of consolidated financial statements and includes interaction with third-party consultants and auditors. The highly-qualified candidate possesses accounting and financial reporting acumen combined with business level thinking, a proven ability to succeed and grow, particularly in an entrepreneurial, hands-on, high growth environment, and experience managing accounting for Software and SaaS companies. The position reports to the CFO and will be instrumental in building a scalable finance and accounting organization supporting the Centerbase business.
Essential Responsibilities
- Cultivates environment of trust and productivity with dynamic leadership of the accounting team
- Builds best-in-class accounting and financial reporting functions for executive leadership
- Leads team to strive for efficient close processes including technology decisions
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
- Manages working capital effectively
- Prepares and maintains cashflow forecast.
- Recommends weekly cash disbursement in accordance with forecast
- Liaises with external financial auditors and tax preparers to ensure timely and accurate filings
- Manages Sales and Use Tax compliance and audits
- Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and revenue recognition
- Supervises timely and accurate customer invoicing and collections
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
- Experience in SaaS industry
- Expertise with Netsuite strongly preferred
- Expertise with Excel functions (Vlookups, If Statements, Sumifs)
- 5 years accounting or prior controller experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP Accounting
- Experience with Software & SaaS accounting & revenue recognition practices
- Experience with diligence and on-boarding of newly acquired companies
- Familiar with SalesForce
- Ability to successfully multitask various projects
- Self-starter with tenacity to seek information and build relationships across all departments
