SERVICE DESK REPRESENTATIVE

REPORTS TO: Banquet Management

STATUS: Hourly

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The position pleasantly and professionally greets guests/visitors upon arrival and assist management to make sure all requirements are met for all attendees. As our singular goal is to be #1 in Event

Hospitality, all of our managers, chefs and employees are “Hospitality Ambassadors.”

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work directly with the Banquet department to ensure that all needs/orders from every convention and show attendees are completed timely.

• Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard system and provide general information to callers.

• Politely and professionally greet (and log walk-in) clients and other visitors.

• Accept, sort, and distribute all incoming mail, telephone messages, newspapers, packages, and freight, including interoffice mail and overnight courier deliveries to each recipient’s mailbox or work area.

• Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from time to time.

REQUIRED:

• High school diploma.

• Strong oral communication and organizational skills. Must be adaptable to a variety of tasks and able to work with unscheduled interruptions.

• Excellent verbal and customer service skills. Ability to participate in a team environment.

• Knowledge of MS Office and typing skills. Ability to understand written and oral direction and communicate same with others.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to meet the following requirements with reasonable accommodation:

• Ability to multitask in an office setting. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis

• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead

• Ability to operate telephone and communicate. Ability to operate a desktop and/or laptop computer

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (usually file boxes). Other lifting or physical requirements as added from time to time, or as required to perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to physically walk approximately one-fourth (¼) of a mile and the circumference of the unit several times a day.
