Responsibilities
- Works as part of the surgical services team
- Ensures that all instruments and equipment used in surgery are gathered, thoroughly cleaned and sterilized
- Assembles, checks and ensures surgical kits are clean, sterile and ready for surgery
- Operates and maintains Autoclave for sterilization of instruments and equipment
- Helps maintain surgical equipment and instruments ensuring there is an adequate supply for OR needs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to remain flexible and calm in a demanding environment
- Ability to prioritize and use good judgment during moments of crisis
- Exhibit strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate a variety of pressing issues with frequent interruptions
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
