Request for Qualifications / Statement of Interest TEMPORARY REFUSE AND RECYCLING PROGRAM ASSISTANT
OVERVIEW:
The Regional Refuse and Recycling Program is seeking an Independent Contractor on a temporary part-time basis to assist the Refuse and Recycling Administrator with the transition to the Program’s new 2025-2030 contract. The Program administers the regional refuse/recycling collection contract for Benner, College, Harris, Ferguson, and Patton Townships. The transition includes a number of changes for residents, and it is anticipated that the Program will experience a much higher than normal volume of calls and emails from residents in which we will need help responding to in a timely manner.
Temporary assistance is needed for a six-month term from January to June of 2025 for 20 hours a week. We will provide a laptop, phone, and office space, however, a flexible schedule and work from home options will be considered. It is expected that compensation will be offered in the range of $23.18 - $25.50 an hour. The person selected to fill this temporary function will be an independent contractor, responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and benefits, and expected to adhere to the COG’s mission, vision, and values while representing the Regional Refuse and Recycling Program.

SCOPE OF WORK:
• Aid in responding to residents’ questions and requests regarding refuse cart use and selection;
• Assist residents in applying for exemptions, vacancies, and door service; setting up new accounts with the billing and hauling contractors; scheduling special collections; and
• Provide education and outreach materials and presentations related to the program’s new contact.
