POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Security Officer I
Department: Security
Reports to: Security Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
The team member in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. The Security Officer I is also responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, team members, and company assets. Maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial information, operating systems, company policies and procedures, marketing plans, and team member information. This position is classified as a Safety Sensitive position. It is a job or position where the team member holding this position has the responsibility for his/her own safety and/or the safety of others.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Interact with all guests and team members to positively influence the guest and team member experience. Demonstrate resiliency when faced with difficult situations under all types of business conditions. Work effectively and courteously with fellow team members.
2. General Escorts, Dispatch, Turnstiles, Outside Patrol, BV Drop, Toke Drop/Count, Emergency BV Drops, Emergency Table Drops, Table Games Jackpots, Inspection and Destruction of Cards and Dice, Safety Patrol, Lost and Found, Parking Lot Patrol, T/S readings, and Table Drops.
3. Escorting money, chips, and markers.
4. Maintain control of sensitive keys.
5. Monitoring patron, employee, and vendor passage in and out of the casino and issuing visitor/vendor/temp badges as needed.
6. Responsible for checking for, reporting, and resolving safety hazards.
7. Have knowledge of promotions and events occurring throughout the casino.
8. Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner and require others to do the same.
9. Handle routine customer complaints and incidents, and exhibit the appropriate discretion to define situations requiring the attention of supervisory personnel. Seek to resolve all situations in a manner that maintains positive guest relationships.
10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including nights, weekends and holidays; shifts may change based on business needs.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical/mental demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands:
• Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time up to 8 hours a day, moving effectively and efficiently throughout the casino, responding to assignments in a timely fashion.
• Standing 90% with 60% of that time being actively walking, sitting 10%, and lifting up to 35 lbs. without assistance.
• Ability to pull/push large carts with assistance weighing up to 800 lbs.
Mental Demands:
• Must be able to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, two-way radio, computer, flashlight, telephone and ID Scanning systems.
• Must be able to write basic Incident Reports using a computer database.
• Must be able to maintain composure during difficult and/or stressful situations.
Work Environment:
• Must be able to work in a smoking environment with above average noise levels and exposure to bright flashing lighting
• Must have the ability to perform assigned duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Education:
• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
Knowledge:
• Must possess average written and oral communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience in customer service preferred.
Other:
• Must complete all required company training.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Level 2 Missouri Gaming License.
• Must be insurable to operate a company vehicle
• Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification relating to the position.
• May obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification when offered. – after 90 days of employment.
