What Will You Do at Chalfant? The ideal candidate will be able to successfully manage our entire procurement process. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Meet company expectations for inventory turns and fill rate.
- Identify and drive process improvements to reduce supplier lead time, cost and on time delivery
- Identify, react, and communicate the short-term material plans that do not meet customer requirements.
- Create, reschedule, expedite and cancel purchase orders, in the ERP system, manually and from approved requisitions for raw materials, facility and MRO items.
- Create and execute procurement plans ensuring all parts are delivered to specification at negotiated price to allow on time release of the Master Production Schedule.
- Expedite production or purchase orders that are needed in less than the normal lead time to improve the shortfall between the current plan and requirements to exceed customer expectations.
- Identify, react, and communicate the short-term material plans that do not meet customer requirements.
- Confirm purchase order receipts by tracking supplier acknowledgements and updating purchase order with changes that could also include delivery date.
- Analyze supply and demand plan and develop a recommended action.
- Interact and communicate with all levels within the organization, as well as suppliers, and customers. Attend daily meetings and communicate issues and recovery plans.
- Learn other duties within the department to be part of a cross-functional team.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
