Who We Want
The Senior Human Resources Generalist participates in and owns various functions of the Plant Human Resources (HR) department. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, hourly hiring and onboarding, overall administration and enforcement of company policies & practices, complaint and grievance investigation and resolution, collective bargaining agreement administration and compliance, partnership with plant leadership on culture change, and processing hourly payroll. The ideal candidate will be passionate about evolving the plant culture, striving to be a wealth of knowledge for all team members, welcoming requests for information and assistance, and having effective and swift follow through.

This will be a 1st shift 7am-4pm M-F position located at our Plant in Walker, MI

What You'll Do
- Presents company information in New Employee Orientation, including policies, procedures, and employee benefits. Assists team members with benefits enrollment, life events, and supporting documentation.
- Ensures consistent application of company policies, including administration of the attendance points policy; issuing written discipline documents; investigating alleged misconduct; and coaching plant leadership on disciplinary matters; and ensuring alignment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Processes weekly hourly team member payroll using ADP Workforce Now, including resolving timecard discrepancies, confirming timecard approvals, processing weekly payroll file, and investigating payroll discrepancies.
- Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies and company procedures via ADP.
- Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner. Updates, monitors, and maintains eligible wage adjustments or increases based on performance evaluations and merit adjustments.
- Maintains and coordinates employee recognition and engagement programs.
- Follows time data management standards, participates in quality management, and performs daily GEMBA floor walks.
- Upholds all safety guidelines and processes for themselves and others.
- Engages in continuous improvement efforts of HR processes, and personal career development
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.

What You Need To Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field required
- 4 years related HR experience required
- Union relations experience preferred (UAW)
- Previous experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred
- Has ability to focus on benefits of change and see it as positive; approaches change or newness in constructive and objective manner; views change as learning opportunity
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Comfortable communicating in difficult situations in both individual and group settings
- Takes positive action to objectively resolve conflict and works with sense of urgency to meet needs of customers.
- Is thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks; demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of work. Uses an objective and balanced approached toward analysis and decision making

- Demonstrated expertise in key HR disciplines including the area of; Attraction & Retention, Alignment and Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits and Training & Development, Union experience
