Chamberlain Advisors is currently seeking a Core Java Developer for our direct client in the financial services industry. This is a 12 month contract-based position to start with expected extensions. The individual will contribute to feature enhancements, performance improvements, bug fixes, and troubleshooting production issues across a variety of Clearing and risk applications. This role requires a self-motivated individual eager to learn new technologies, with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate directly with end users to create practical technology solutions. What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Write core Java code in alignment with the overall architecture and design of existing applications.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve issues reported during testing.
- Analyze performance metrics, identify factors affecting performance, and implement improvements.
- Utilize automation tools to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor progress to ensure timely delivery of assigned tasks.
- Introduce fresh ideas to improve processes and outcomes.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Work collaboratively with other teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 3 years of experience in software development.
- Strong Object-Oriented Design and Programming experience.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of Core Java.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle) and SQL.
- Proficiency with Jenkins and Chef.
- Skilled in UNIX/Linux and shell scripting.
