Job Description - Drafts-person
Under the supervision of the Production Coordinator, the Drafts-person’s major responsibilities are, but not limited to:
1. Quality Objective – To see that all jobs are drawn correctly and in a timely fashion
2. Function -
A. Takeoff, Bid and/or quote precast jobs for sales personnel in a timely fashion
B. Confer and coordinate with Production Coordinator, Cost Estimator, Plant Manager and Sales personnel on which jobs to bid
C. Prepare shop drawings for customer approval and production in a timely manner
D. Maintain an organized filing system for quotes and completed jobs
E. Draw up new products and update sales catalogs
F. Assist the plant manager in establishing a continuous improvement program, and ensure the program is adhered to
G. Document and report to the Plant Manager any and all irregularities in quality after taking the necessary corrective action
H. Fill in for the Production Coordinator and Cost Estimator when they are not in the office
3. Communication -
A. Develop and maintain a working relationship among supervisors and team members that enhances team work, motivation and high morale
B. Keep the Plant Manager informed as to personnel needs that would result in higher productivity
4. Education-
A. Experience with Microsoft Excel, and Word
B. Auto CAD experience is not required but a plus
5. Physical requirements -
A. Ability to move about a two-story office environment in a safe and efficient manner
B. Position requires sitting for prolonged periods of time
C. Handle physical files, paper, and common office equipment
D. Requires use of a computer, telephone,10 key calculator, copier, fax machine, printer, and company email system
E. Must be able to read and understand production records, training manuals, operating procedures, daily shop drawings, purchase orders, sales orders, emails, spreadsheets, and other material which commonly flow through an office setting

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
