What does a Family Support Specialist do?
The Family Services Department seeks a considerate, mature applicant who demonstrates professionalism, compassion and respect for primary caregivers, children and adults involved in various social service systems such as but not limited to the following: regional center, behavioral health, and foster care youth.
Occasionally performs work in the community at events and meetings.
Exhibits proficient communication in all forms of interactions with the families, staff, and partner agencies.
Works closely with other administrative staff to fulfill recruitment and matching tasks, as well as interviewing applicants for the Respite Caregiver position.
Provides guidance and training over the phone and in person to staff in the field as needed.
Exercises integrity, good listening skills, timely follow-up, a caring attitude and teamwork at all times.
