Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our educational team. Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students facing academic or personal challenges.
- Develop and implement programs that promote social-emotional learning and resilience among students.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students in need of additional support or resources.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student needs and progress, particularly in special education settings.
- Facilitate workshops for parents on topics such as childhood development, behavior management, and effective communication.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, interventions, and student progress.
- Advocate for students’ needs within the school system and coordinate with external agencies when necessary.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote a positive school culture and climate.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational settings is essential.
- Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in behavior management and classroom management techniques.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is preferred.
- Experience in theater, sports coaching, daycare, or similar activities that enhance engagement with children is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- A degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
