Interested in being a part of an incredible summer adventure filled with cherished memories, traditional camp activities, and a sense of community? Look no further. Charlotte Latin seeks instructors for this summer’s Camp Victor, Latin’s flagship full-day camp. As an instructor, you will participate in a variety of duties including, but not limited to the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, coordinate, and teach enrichment activities.
- Provide direction, supervision, and organization of campers in their day-to-day activities, encouraging personal growth, well-being, and engagement.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff.
- Serve as a positive role model to both campers and staff
- Represent the camp with enthusiasm and professionalism when interacting with parents and/or community members.
Schedule
- Our camp directors will determine the camp weeks/schedules, which will vary weekly from June 9 to August 1st.
- All camps run on a full-day schedule from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Qualifications
Experience
- A minimum of one semester of college or post-graduate coursework completed.
- Experience supervising or caring for school-aged children outside of family members is required.
- Experience presenting, leading, and facilitating engaging group activities for children.
- Experience planning and executing lesson plans.
- Solid background in classroom or group management, with the ability to build team cohesion, maintain control, and creatively engage campers in a structured yet flexible setting.
Skills and Availability
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate activities and child development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative co-worker with parents, faculty, and staff.
- A sincere desire to work with children in a nurturing and engaging environment.
- Comfortable participating in activities indoors and outdoors.
- Adheres to the highest level of professionalism.

- Applicants must be available June 4 - June 5 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. for in-person, mandatory training and be able to commit to three or more weeks of camp. Applicants should ensure their availability aligns with these requirements before applying.
Working Conditions and Environment
- Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.
- Frequently talk and hear.
- Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.
- Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures.
- Long or odd hours, as needed.
