Middle School Head Softball Coach

Description

Charlotte Latin School is seeking a new Middle School Head Softball coach for the 2025 season. This position is responsible for coaching and instructing student-athletes both individually and in groups with regard to the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. Key responsibilities include:

• Plan and run practices and manage player feedback
• Assist with the organization of tryouts
• Make decisions about player positions and playing time
• Communicate with parents and players
• Manage uniform and team equipment
• Assist with field upkeep
• Post game results to the website and manage team webpage

Qualifications

• Coaching experience with a middle school/high school/competitive travel team and/or college playing experience
• A positive, upbeat coaching style
• A model for sportsmanship-like behavior towards student-athletes, school communities, officials, and spectators
• Willingness to learn and follow Latin’s Softball curriculum
• Availability from February- May, Monday-Friday from 3:45-5:15 for practices as well as approximately two games a week. 

Working Conditions and Environment

• Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
• Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.
• Frequently talk and hear.
• Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders.
• Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures.
• Long or odd hours, as needed.
