What a day in the life of our Transportation Project Manager looks like:

You will oversee a variety of projects, including street, site, highway, and bridge developments that involve federal, state, and local infrastructure funding. Additionally, you will build and nurture strong client relationships, engage with agencies and professional organizations, and foster business connections.

  • Supervise geometric, traffic, drainage, and site development initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation of plans, drawings, and specifications while providing essential coordination and maintaining quality control and assurance throughout the project's duration.
  • Manage subconsultants and lead field operations, including surveys, studies, construction observations, and comprehensive project documentation.
  • Effective oversight of contracts, budgets, and schedules will be vital, along with your ability to identify opportunities for collaboration with a team in preparing and submitting proposals, statements of interest, and qualifications.
  • Manage, develop, and expand a team of technical staff, promoting collaboration and professional growth.


What you will need to thrive in this role:

EducationA Bachelors degree in Engineers (Civil Engineering is preferred)

LicensureAbility to obtain PE license in Illinois (current license preferred)

Experience10 years of hands on experience with transportation projects at a civil engineering firm based in the United States with a focus on infrastructure planning, design, and/or construction

ManagementExperience managing, leading, and mentoring teams

LocationSchaumburg or Rockford offices; hybrid schedule is available.

Software skillsMicrosoft 365, MicroStation and AutoCAD

Adaptabilityexcel at building, maintaining and adapting to a diverse client based
