What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Clinician position at Chemical Abuse Services Agency Inc?
Description
Under the supervision of the Program Director the Intake Clinician responsible for providing evaluation and treatment services to individuals with emotional, mental, or substance abuse difficulties, including abuse of tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs. The clinician’s job role is to help clients establish recovery from their addiction(s) by utilizing appropriate therapeutic and educational techniques that make a recovery lifestyle a reality. The clinician provides support and timely assessments/services for clients going through difficulties in life. He/She is also responsible for the intake component of the Hostos clients.
Requirements
- Licensed Counselor or associate (LMFT, LMSW, LCSW, etc.)
- Two years of professional counseling experience; or a combination of a degree in a related field and professional experience.
- Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Evidence of knowledge of the dynamics of chemical dependency rehabilitation, resources available to the chemically dependent, and appreciate of the self-help groups.
- Must demonstrate appreciation and willingness to develop continuing skills towards multicultural competency within a behavioral health setting.
- Must be a growth-oriented person willing to set and work toward professional goals.
- Must demonstrate good emotional stability, maturity, warmth and openness.
- Must have driver’s license and motor vehicle.
