Description
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk II performs physical and clerical tasks associated with shipment and reception of supplies and finished products. Verify shipping records and correct packaging and labeling. Unpack received goods and check for damage and accuracy of shipment. Work with materials transport companies. Performs packaging activities in support facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Accurately maintain records of all inbound and outbound shipments, handle returns, and report discrepancies.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading and invoices.
- Load and unload trucks delivering or picking up supplies and/or finished goods.
- Accurately label, package, and prepare goods for shipment.
- Supports securing, monitoring, and auditing of Government equipment and goods.
- Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to reconcile discrepancies and assist in cycle counting and regular inventory audits.
- Perform all work activities to meet regulatory compliance related to DOT, ITAR, and other shipper requirements (e.g. shipping hazardous materials).
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Conduct dock and warehouse work to meet regulatory and company safety requirements.
- Maintain shipping and receiving materials, documents, and prepare reports as needed.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely throughout the facility.
- All employees are expected to be in compliance with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years of experience in the warehousing and inventory control areas of a product manufacturing company
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance commensurate with the level of facility clearance.
- Experience with and ability to use inventory management software and Microsoft Office products.
- Must have forklift experience or license.
- Good time management, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- DOT or IATA certification preferred.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to climb ladders, work from high lifts, and accomplish lifting/pushing/pulling tasks up to a certain weight limit set by OSHA and company policies. Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Use of computer. Able to sit or stand for 10-hour shifts to perform repetitive actions using mechanical and powered tools.
