Cherokee Federal is Hiring a Project Advisor I - Washington, DC Near Washington, DC

SUMMARY

Duties of the Project Advisor/Scheduler include providing architectural, related engineering consultation, coordination support and advisory for the renovation of buildings. Specific tasks include the overall project coordination and assistance in financial management; program development; housing and space planning, design, cost estimating, construction oversight, inspection, scheduling, relocation, technical reviews, presentations, progress meetings, post occupancy, commissioning, written documentation, architectural and engineering consultation.

**This position requires an active Secret Clearance***

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Analyzing and evaluating the management, coordination, and monitoring of projects in order to facilitate the acquisition process.
  • Planning, evaluating, and maintaining technical surveillance over operations required to support the program goals and objectives of assigned actions.
  • Communicating, both verbally and in writing, to provide guidance and instruction related to facilitating the acquisition process (i.e., justifying, negotiating, and resolving controversial issues and problems).
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory/management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial management; program development; housing and space planning, design, cost estimating, construction oversight, inspection, scheduling, relocation, technical reviews, presentations, progress meetings, post occupancy, commissioning, written documentation, architectural and engineering consultation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • PMP certification is required at start date or must be obtained within 12 months of hiring and kept up to date.
  • Excellent organizational skills and knowledgeable in project management methods and tools.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate relevant project information to customer and staff
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Visio
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Work will require travel, including overnight stays.
