Banquet Captain

Cherokee Casino Tahlequah is seeking a Banquet Captain to oversee all aspects of banquet operations, from initial setup to post-event cleanup. This includes ensuring the proper setup of the banquet space, coordinating with the kitchen and service staff, and managing all aspects of guest service. The Captain is responsible for maintaining high standards of service, resolving any guest issues, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of banquet service, including setup, food and beverage service, and cleanup.
• Ensure the venue is prepared according to company standards prior to guest arrival.
• Oversee the presentation and service of all food and beverage items.
• Adhere to all company standards and special guest requests.
• Communicate any schedule changes, challenges, or guest concerns to the appropriate staff.
• Compile and verify accurate checks for all banquets.
• Present checks to clients for signature and ensure proper payment processing.
• Complete and distribute all necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
• Ensure proper storage and return of all banquet equipment.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Assign duties to banquet staff and provide guidance to other Banquet Captains.
• Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and staff.

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of relevant banquet service experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler's card.
• Successful completion of alcohol awareness training.
• Ability to obtain a state-issued alcoholic beverage license.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
