Summary
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and sanitary environment for the residents by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties
- Clean the bathrooms (toilets, sinks and mop floors).
- Clean residents’ rooms (wipe the tables, sinks, floors).
- Sweep, scrub, and mop every room daily.
- Spot mop hallways.
- Strip, wax and polish floors, as needed.
- Buff two rooms daily.
- Clean, disinfect and sterilize shower rooms.
- Wash beds and mattresses.
- Pick up trash.
- Fill paper towel and soap containers.
- Dust and clean all the furniture.
- Clean elevators and polish metalwork.
- Wash and clean windows, door panels, and sills.
- Wash and clean walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
- Clean the stairwells and hallways.
- Empty wastebaskets, and empty and clean ashtrays.
- Pick up cigarette butts and trash.
- Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
- Check aerosol dispensers and curtains.
- Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Ability to read and comprehend the names of schedules, chemicals and directions.
- Ability to run certain machinery for cleaning purposes.
- Ability to work independently and proceed with objectives.
- Ability to carry tasks to completion.
- Basic organizational skills.
