Our Opportunity:

Chewy is seeking a customer-centric Associate Director, Email Marketing who will oversee the promotional email marketing program for Chewy’s most active and pet-obsessed customers to join our team based in Boston, MA. This role will be responsible for the strategy, execution, and measurement of promotional email marketing campaigns that increase customer engagement and drive incremental sales. This role leads a team of email marketers who are passionate about creating exceptional customer experiences.

What You'll Do:

• Implement a promotional email roadmap based on overall life-cycle marketing with an emphasis on email campaign to drive customer retention and incremental net sales.
• Lead a team of email marketing managers and optimize the current operational process
• Drive continuous improvement across email KPIs including deliverability, open rates, click-to-open rates, conversion rates, opt-out rates, and revenue
• Create and implement advanced segmentation plans to improve email personalization and targeting.
• Work cross functionally with marketing and merchandizing organizations to build an advanced email program that supports the needs of the wider business.
• Drive a customer first approach to all email experiences.
• Effectively partner across technology, analytics, email development to increase personalization and segmentation at scale.

What You'll Need:

• A passion and track record for customer-centric marketing
• 8 years of email and/or direct marketing experience; ecommerce preferred
• Bachelor's degree, Masters a plus
• Experience leading a team of email marketers to drive operational excellence and deliver results
• Operate at depth assisting the team with campaign management, audience selection, and campaign optimizations.
• Data driven mindset with the Ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights
• Represent the email program and partner with all business units
• Experience with an enterprise level ESP and project management tools (JIRA) required
• Strong communication skills with ability to clearly articulate information that influences data-driven business decisions
• Operates independently and efficiently to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and successfully, without sacrificing attention to detail
• Proven experience leading a campaign management function and outstanding attention to detail across multiple different business segments
• Be knowledgeable on email best practices, technologies, and trends
• Experience working with a Customer Data Platform (CDP)
• Understanding of incrementality testing, statistical significance, and lifetime value
• Position may require travel

Bonus:

• E-commerce or CPG marketing background is a plus
• Experience working with email tools such as Responsys, Braze, Moveable ink
• Technical knowledge of ESPs, and CDPs
• Working knowledge of HTML for email
