What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant position at Child Guidance & Family Solutions?
Job Description
EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH CONSULTANT
When a child is struggling in childcare or preschool, it can be overwhelming - helping young children succeed in early group learning is critical to their futures!
Child Guidance & Family Solutions offers professional consultation to childcare centers so they can better manage preschool classrooms where children's challenging behaviors interfere with learning. Childcare centers often have no choice but to remove a child whose behavior is not well controlled. If not prevented, expulsion from preschool interferes with kindergarten readiness, lifelong learning and success.
As an Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, you will be trained to provide coaching and support to classroom teachers and administrative staff to prevent very young children from being expelled from preschool and early learning. In your assigned centers, you will provide consultation, early intervention and prevention services, refer individual children and families for additional services including individual therapy, and act as a resource to help teachers and parents manage challenging child behaviors!
Required Qualifications
Child Guidance & Family Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
