Direct Support Professionals to join our diverse team and provide compassionate care and supervision to our adult residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our dedicated team of professionals ensure that our residents are able to integrate into the communities they reside in, implement positive behavioral supports and behavioral plans and ensure that our residents are able to enjoy a warm and nurturing living environment where they are kept safe and are encouraged to learn and grow. Our Direct Support Professionals are an integral part of the team and ensure that the daily needs of the residents are met by providing physical care (which includes toileting, feeding, changing, lifting, etc.) teaching life and independent living skills, ensuring proper nutrition and maintaining a clean and organized living environment. Direct Support Professionals document daily behaviors, administer medication, accompany/transport residents to appointments and into the community where they actively participate in activities alongside the residents.
A mandatory 1 week training is required (Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm).
Schedule Available:
Sunday - Thursday 3pm-11pm
Tuesday - Saturday 3pm - 11pm
Friday - Monday 3pm - 11pm
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Minimum of a High School diploma with prior experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities and/or behaviorally challenged individuals;
- Valid Basic driver’s license in the state of NJ and good driving history (no probationary license allowed);
- Good writing and communication skills;
- The employee must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required training;
- Ability to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and races;
- Ability to effectively work as a team member and implement positive behavioral supports;
- Complete drug test and background checks including CARI, CHRI, the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities; and
- Must cooperate with the licensee, Department of Human Services (DHS) staff, Department of Children and Families (DCF) staff and any state representatives in any inspection or investigation.
