Position Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Children’s Specialized. In this role you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication. You will apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches to enhance communication skills, social interaction, and overall quality of life for individuals receiving Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services.
Key Responsibilities :
Assessment and Diagnosis :
Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to assess communication skills, including articulation, fluency, language comprehension, social communication, and pragmatics.
Interpret assessment results to develop individualized treatment plans and goals aligned with the client’s needs and ABA objectives.
Collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), and other team members to integrate speech and language goals with behavioral interventions.
Administer autism diagnostic evaluations under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Write autism diagnostic reports under the training and guidance of a licensed psychologist.
Therapeutic Intervention :
Implement evidence-based speech and language therapies, using techniques that promote language acquisition, communication development and social interaction.
Tailor interventions for children with ASD to enhance functional communication and reduce communication-related challenges.
Provide family education and support, teaching caregivers strategies to reinforce communication goals at home.
Collaboration and Teamwork :
Work alongside Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and other clinical professionals to create and adjust treatment plans, as necessary.
Actively participate in team meetings, case reviews, and training to ensure an integrated approach to client care.
Documentation and Reporting :
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and communication logs.
Prepare reports summarizing progress and outcomes to share with parents and other stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate client progress and adjustment treatment strategies as needed.
Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Experience conducting ADOS, CARS and autism diagnostics under the supervision of a psychologist.
Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
1 year of experience working with children with ASD.
Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Ability to manage a caseload effectively.
