JOB TITLE: Research Engineer
LOCATION: Mossville
ON SITE/HYBRID/REMOTE: Onsite
SALARY: $66,000/annually

JOB DESCRIPTION/TYPICAL TASK BREAKDOWN:
Summary:
The main function of a research engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical research engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
Typical task breakdown:
- Lead team meetings to develop FMEA and DVP&R
- Document test pieces
- Place test pieces on benches and gather data
Interaction with team:
- Communicate daily with team lead on activities
- Present test results in team meetings
- Work with team to address design issues found during testing/validation
Work environment:
Test lab and office environment
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- This engineer will be responsible for fuel pump validation for a new design pump. They will lead validation planning, track hardware, plan and run tests, and communicate results to the team. Engineer will work with lead engineer, pump SME and two additional engineers on development of new fuel pump project to advance toward NPI launch.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 1-2 years’ experience with testing
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Validation processes: DFMEA, DVP&R
- Organized hardware tracking
DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Familiarity with validation system Farevo
