ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & TASKS FOR SERVICE WRITER REPORTS TO: Service Manager The following tasks are the primary responsibility of the position of Service Writer:

• Open and maintain work order for all service work in process, including time entry for all work performed daily by technicians.
• Develop strong understanding and knowledge of work order procedures, coding terms and billing details for all work performed in the Service department
• Ability to spot irregularities and inconsistencies and review own work
• Maintain work order files with all associated documentation and support

Answer incoming calls and emails Assist Technicians with paperwork as needed Assist Service Managers with Technician schedules and other functions as requested Input Warranty claims into manufacturers sites for prompt payment and perform periodic review of open warranty claims Run Work in Process reports and other related reports such as open purchase orders and advise as to status of open items to assure timely receipts and closing of work orders Issue Purchase Orders and track status for outside repairs and shop supplies Maintain files for all work in process, in-progress and completed jobs Assist with Technician travel schedules and expense reporting Assist with weekly toolbox meetings SKILLS SETS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE: Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office Maintain a professional appearance Maintain work safe environment and abide by all Safety Policies Maintain professional team attitude and conduct

• Demonstrate good judgement and reasoning in investigating and solving problems including those with customer, vendors, and internal personnel of the company
• Work within the established policies and procedures of company

• Promptly creating and disseminating all reports, documents and forms required by the company operations.
