SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Program Writer is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of assigned residential Community Living facilities. Guided and supported by the Associate Director, the Senior Manager will ensure the compliance and provision of safe and high-quality care that is representative of Citizen Advocates’ mission. The Senior Program will oversee and be held responsible for the oversight and supervision of Program Writers to deliver exceptional service that is compliant with OPWDD, OMH and OASAS policy and procedure. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Community Living.
Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Community Living
- Has a firm understanding of all applicable policies, procedures, practices and ensures regulatory compliance to support day-to-day operations and the safety and well-being of staff and the individuals’ receiving services.
- Supervises, orients, and trains staff under the auspices of established best practices and highest standards and that is compliant with OPWDD, OMH and OASAS policy and procedure.
- Manages and supports the Community Living Program Writers and reviews staff performance, correcting and supporting accordingly-recommends professional development and training as needed.
- Collaborates professionally with internal and external stakeholders inclusive of but not limited to, colleagues, service providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitors and mentors’ Program Writers to improve documentation and billing- tracks and provides data as requested by the Associate Director.
- Manages the process of residential opportunities within Community Living
- Collaborates professionally with internal and external stakeholders to full residential opportunities.
- Oversees accurate and timely billing submissions.
- Oversees internal compliance audits.
- Ensure that all regulations are followed.
- Attend all mandatory training.
- Coordinate admission/discharge meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
Work week schedule: Monday through Friday.
Hours of work: ____ a.m. to ____ p.m.
Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur.
Travel
Staff will be expected to travel within the programs they are responsible for. There may be times staff are asked to travel for trainings to help out at another site out of the county. If this were to occur staff can submit for mileage from their work site to the destination and back to their work site.
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma and at least 3 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Or
- An associate degree in related field preferred with one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
