LOCATION
Positions available at both Meadows Park Pool and The Swim & Racquet CenterSCHEDULE
Must be available to work at least two full shifts (7:00 am - 5:15 pm) and one-half shift (5–6-hour day) per week.20 - 25 hours per week
Varied hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs responsible protective service work insuring the safe use of the City's public swimming facilities by pool visitors and aids troubled bathers in emergencies; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
- Maintains discipline at a swimming pool facility
- Observes actions of swimmers and enforces water safety rules and pool rules
- Provides emergency lifesaving services to swimmers in need
- Maintains proper chemical balance of pool water; takes water samples and adds chemical when needed
- Adjusts and maintains the filter for the pool
- Gives swimming instructions to individuals or groups
- Cleans the pool and related facilities on a regular schedule
- Meets and greets patrons; resolves conflicts; explains pool rules, regulations, and policies
- Performs pool opening and closing procedures
- Clean and maintains swimming pool filters and related facilities
- Takes part in training programs to improve lifeguarding skills
- Registers instruction program participants
- Sells pool permits; operates cash register
- Assists with special events
- Performs related tasks as required

- Must possess current certifications in American Red Cross, Lifeguard Training (LGT) and CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR PR).
