POSITION SUMMARY: The City of Cleveland is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Library Page. This entry-level position is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a library environment. Under the direction of the Library Director, the Library Page performs routine clerical tasks, including shelving and retrieving books and other library materials. This is not a full list of job duties; additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Education and Other Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Drivers License: Must have a valid Texas Drivers License (TDL)
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Library Clerk include, but are not limited to:
Customer Service:
- Assist library patrons by retrieving requested materials as needed.
- Provide a friendly and welcoming environment for all library visitors.
- Answer basic questions about library organization and procedures when required.
Library Materials Management:
- Accurately shelve books, magazines, and other library materials according to the library classification system.
- Retrieve and organize materials for library staff and patrons.
- Monitor shelves to ensure materials are properly arranged and neat.
Administrative and Clerical Support:
- Perform routine clerical tasks, including organizing and maintaining materials.
- Assist with special library projects or events as assigned by the Library Director.
Technology and Equipment Assistance:
- Operate basic library equipment such as book carts and scanners.
- Basic computer literacy is preferred to assist with digital organization and record-keeping.
Additional Duties:
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of library spaces and shelves.
- Other duties as assigned by library directors.
Pay Grade: 1
Salary Range: $25,687.08 - $37,246.27, paid bi-weekly, based on experience and qualifications.
Location: Library
Status: Part- Time, at-will, non-exempt, hours up to 29 hours per work week
