Performs difficult professional and administrative work in the purchasing and contracting of City services, supplies, materials and equipment; and performs related work as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Procurement Manager. This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and fingering; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.

Creating, coordinating and overseeing bid, quotes and RFP activities for the CityPosting and unsealing of bids and RFPs, checking for all required documentation prior to creating and posting of bid tabulation sheetsPreparing and maintaining appropriate files and records; developing and maintaining relationships with vendorsAdvising departments on procurement proceduresReviews and approves purchase orders and change ordersManages and maintains contracts approved by City CouncilAssists in the management of the City wide P-Card programAssists in the management of the City wide Cell Phone PlanServes as an approver for a variety of purchasing tasks within the ERP systemServes as a backup to the Purchasing Order AdministratorPerforms related tasks as required
