Under direction, reviews and issues building permits; coordinates interdepartmental review of proposed construction plans; computes and collects fees for issuance; may testify at court hearings relative to the issuance of permits.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside environmental conditions. Regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree with major coursework in geography, urban planning, public administration, or related field.This is a union position. Schedule is Monday - Friday. 40 hours per week.Pay grade 519. External hires start at Step 1 of the pay grade.
