What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Chief Lab Analyst position at City of Espanola, New Mexico?
$29.82 to $31.96 per hour ($62,025.60 to $66,476.80 annual)
SUMMARY
Supervises the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Wastewater Plant Laboratory which may include assisting with: conducting a variety of chemical and bacteriological laboratory tests for the City's wastewater system; maintaining laboratory software and reporting systems; performing a variety of standardized chemical and bacteriological laboratory tests on wastewater influent and effluent; maintaining quality control standards; maintaining and recording test results in automated or manual recording systems; preparing samples for shipment to laboratories for complex chemical or bacteriological analysis.
Laboratory work is performed according to Standard Methods procedures and is reviewed for accuracy of tests conducted, accuracy of records, and condition of the laboratory; laboratory work is performed under direct supervision as directed.
Works under the general supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent, or designee
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduation or equivalent; AND one (1) year related experience and/or training;
- Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license and be insurable by the City’s auto/vehicle insurance;
- Must State of New Mexico Wastewater Systems Lab Tech Level III/EPA certification as required for lab operations.
