As part of the Department of Public Works Team this position also serves a key role in special community events.

- Maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance of all systems.
- Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in all facilities.
- Maintaining the efficiency and good working conditions of the facilities.
- Maintaining facility water treatment systems, cooling towers, air handlers, disassemble and reassemble system components, furniture, and similar.
- Monitor facility fire extinguishing systems, other mechanical systems, and fire suppression sprinklers.
- Installs new/replacement equipment and materials in facilities, light heating, ventilating, air conditioning and other maintenance work.
- Hands on project management.
- Contractor Supervision.
- Preventative maintenance on various types of equipment.
- Snow removal duties.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Documentation of formal training/ education or apprenticeship related to the maintenance or Applied Science field preferred;
- 5 years Lead Mechanic working experience in related fields preferred;
- Training for the relevant trades preferred or ability to demonstrate equal knowledge base;
- Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.;
- Ability to communicate and follow up effectively both orally and in writing;
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle required;
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours when necessary for meetings, training, events, or emergency/on-call assignments including snow removal;
- Ability to perform, at a professional level, all trades associated with the facility maintenance field.
