What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Events Lead position at City of Greenville?
The City of Greenville's Recreation and Parks Department runs a variety of Special Events throughout the year. We are looking for individuals who would like to become a part of the Special Events team to assist with the pre-event, on-site, and execution of events. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, creative thinking, a passion for events, and creating a high-quality experience for attendees.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Support the Recreation Supervisor in the coordination and preparation of City special events;
- Lead the planning and organizing of all pre-event activities, such as venue location, program facilitation, event management, and other areas of event planning;
- Support with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, follow-up with inquiries, computer data entry, and assistance with correspondence and event files;
- Coordinate with vendors and sponsors for each event, including handling the process of payments;
- Distribute marketing materials, such as flyers, brochures, posters, etc. to different locations;
- Assist with the organization, upkeep, and preparation of equipment and event supplies;
- Assist with the operational support on the day of events, including but not limited to, event set-up, event management, breakdown, and other duties assigned;
- Provide quality customer service to private partners, vendors, and citizens during and after events;
- Manage the event on the day it takes place, including but not limited to crowd management, parking facilitation, and event registration;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent and ability to work with the public; and
- Minimum age of 18 years old.

Salary : $15 - $20
