Ability to: | - Ensure wastewater operations are in compliance with applicable codes, procedures and practices.
| - Implement and monitor the division’s objectives, work programs, and productivity measurements.
| - Handle calls from citizens, businesses, and utilities with wastewater concerns.
| - Conduct research and maintain an awareness of new issues, methods, equipment, trends, and advances in the profession.
| - Interpret, explain, apply, and ensure compliance with provisions of City ordinances pertaining to wastewater management.
| - Develop and implement standard operations procedures.
| - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
| - Provide supervision, leadership, training, and work direction for assigned staff.
| - Exercise independent thinking and the ability to conceptualize and develop new or improved procedures, techniques or ideas appropriate to the work environment.
| - Compile, analyze and evaluate data.
| - Establish and maintain effective relationships with property owners, developers, engineers, utilities, homeowner associations, and local, state, and federal officials.
| - Provide technical assistance and information to citizens with questions, concerns, and complaints.
| - Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports.
| - Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
| - Write reports, prepare business letters, summarize meeting minutes, and compose emails in a clear and professional manner.
| - Read analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical journals and procedures, financial reports, legal documents, and governmental regulations as well as literature, books, reviews, reports, and abstracts.
| - Make mathematical calculations and draw logical conclusions.
| - Drive a City vehicle between facilities and job sites.
| - Work in inclement weather conditions including cold rain, wind, heat, snow, sleet, etc.
| - Operate general office equipment to include scanner, printer, copier, telephone, and computer with Microsoft Office Suite.
| - Utilize specialized software and systems to include electronic purchasing system, timekeeping system, work management tracking system, etc.
