THE CITY OF HUNTSVILLE’S FIRE & RESCUE DEPARTMENT WANTS YOU! Apply today! About our Department: The primary goal of Huntsville Fire & Rescue is to serve the public by protecting life, property and the environment. The department is staffed with well-trained personnel and teams with diverse and highly specialized skill sets to meet the wide-ranging demands for the City of Huntsville, Alabama. On a daily basis the department staffs and coordinates 21 engine companies, 7 ladder trucks, 5 rescue trucks, along with a Special Operations Division which includes, Hazardous Materials Units, Technical Rescue Units, and several specialized support units. Huntsville Fire & Rescue also has investigations, emergency response dispatch, logistics, and training divisions, all of which are diverse, innovative and efficient. Fire Services Facilities Coordinator Position Overview: This is administrative work involving responsibility for coordination of facility-related issues for Huntsville Fire & Rescue's occupied facilities and structures by serving as a liaison with General Services, Public Works, Traffic Engineering, and Landscape departments as well as other professionals and contractors as necessary. Work responsibilities include establishing maintenance, safety, and inspection processes unique to the facilities occupied and utilized by Huntsville Fire & Rescue; Work also involves writing and overseeing work orders, performance appraisals, visual inspections and adherence to policies and procedures.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements: HS Diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education or a GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency. Experience in construction and maintenance is required. A valid Driver's License. Current Forklift Certification or must obtain within three months from the hire date.
