What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traffic Signal Technician position at City of Meridian?
Duties:
-Installs and designs electrical systems, circuits, and components in traffic control equipment
- Repairs/maintains electrical equipment on traffic control devices and municipal streetlights and assists electricians when needed
- Repair non-functioning traffic lights
- Troubleshoot traffic control cabinets to identify the cause of non-functioning or faulty traffic signals
- Collaborate with team members to implement network upgrades and improvements
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users
Requirements:
- Vocational/Technical degree with training emphasis in electricity and electrons
- 1-year previous experience and/or training combination of education
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment installation and maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
