What are the responsibilities and job description for the IBM Programmer Analyst position at City of Pompano Beach?
As a Business Applications Analyst, you will be responsible for technical work in software development, implementation, troubleshooting, and end-user training on IBM I-Series and Windows software systems. You will install upgrades to operating systems as required and work closely with third-party application software vendors to maintain the software systems. In addition, you will serve as an analyst/project manager for specific third-party application software systems and work collaboratively with internal departments to analyze data and produce Analytics Now/Cognos, Crystal, and PowerBI reports. You will also maintain and design applications in Laserfiche, create training materials, and conduct training classes for users of critical systems. Your work will be performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Chief Information Officer, to whom you will report directly. Official title: Business Applications Analyst
A minimum of eight years of experience in the field of software development. This should include hands-on experience with Analytics Now/Cognos, Crystal, PowerBI, and Laserfiche, as well as proficiency in applications for the IBM iSeries and SQL. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. An understanding of Central Square Naviline Application Software, including its operational uses and capabilities. A foundational knowledge of security standards and compliance practices. Basic familiarity with computer hardware configurations. Strong analytical abilities, capable of efficiently collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating large volumes of data with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues. Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity and detail orientation. Must use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through telephone and personal contact as generally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, Capable of moving 50 lbs, kneeling, bending, reaching, carrying, handling related to computer equipment. The noise level in this work environment is usually quiet in an inside office setting. Possession of a valid FL driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
