Position Overview As the Wastewater Supervisor, you will lead a team of skilled professionals, including a Treatment Lead, Collections Lead, Wastewater Mechanic, and three Utility Maintenance Workers. Your role will involve directing daily operations, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wastewater regulations. You will play a critical part in maintaining a facility with an average dry weather design capacity of 2.25 million gallons per day (MGD) and a maximum capacity of 6.75 MGD.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee plant operations, develop standard procedures, and resolve operational challenges promptly.
- Serve as Designated System Supervisor for the WWTP and Collection System.
- Supervise and mentor staff, conducting performance evaluations and fostering professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including preparing required reports.
- Manage equipment maintenance, preventive schedules, and minimize downtime.
- Monitor budgets, oversee procurement, and manage contracts.
- Promote safety, provide training, and implement corrective measures when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (associate's degree in a related field preferred).
- Five years of wastewater treatment experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
- Currently certified as an Oregon Grade II or higher Wastewater Treatment System Operator (or other US State equivalent)
- Currently certified as an Oregon Grade I or higher Wastewater Collection System Operator (or other US State equivalent)
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary: $87,077 - $111,134 (DOE, based on 2024-2025 Salary Schedule).
