Heavy Equipment Operators - Water operates a variety of heavy equipment in the maintenance, repair, replacement, and development of the streets and drainage systems, water distribution, and sewer collection systems, or parkland and recreation facilities. This is accomplished by operating tractor backhoes, crane hoists, motor graders, gradall, crack sealers, tractors for mowing, gas and electrical metal welders, hydraulic sewer main cleaners, and/or other equipment and machinery. Other duties include assisting other departments and divisions as necessary. Other essential functions include:
- Heavy Equipment Operations: Performs maintenance of streets and drainage systems, water distribution, and sewer collection systems, or parkland and recreation facilities by operating and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment including tractor backhoes, crane hoists, motor graders, gradall, crack sealers, tractors for mowing, hydraulic sewer main cleaners, and gas and electrical metal welders.
- Preventative Maintenance: Load and unload materials and equipment by transporting and operating equipment and performing preventive maintenance.
- Interdepartmental Service: Assist other departments with maintenance duties which may include repairing streets, parks, lift stations, and working special events.

- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Must possess a Class A or B Texas Commercial Driver's License at time of hire.
- Must obtain a Tanker Endorsement within 12 months of hire.
- Must possess a Class C Water Distribution License and/or Class II Sewer Collection License.
- Ability to remain flexiblewith your schedule.
- Work may require unusual hours and the ability to be on call after business hours.
