Job Summary
The City of St. Peters is seeking a Streets/Traffic Intern to assist with the inspection of transportation and public works improvement projects. This hands-on role provides valuable experience in infrastructure inspections, data collection, and project documentation within the Streets and Traffic Departments.
Normal Shift: Mon-Fri; 7:00am - 3:30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in field inspections and assign condition ratings for streets, sidewalks, signs, and other transportation infrastructure.
- Assist with construction oversight, material inspection, and project documentation for roadway, sidewalk, traffic signal, and other transportation-related projects.
- Update and prepare infrastructure maps using GIS software and GPS units.
- Enter field survey data into a Microsoft Access database.
- Ensure all work complies with City safety standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license in the state of Missouri.
- Ability to carry a handheld GPS unit or tablet for several hours.
