The City of Sterling Heights is seeking a hard-working, technically competent, and results-oriented individual to join the Office of Facilities Maintenance as its next part-time Facilities Maintenance Mechanic!
The Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Mechanic job classification focuses on maintenance and repairs to a large and varied inventory of City facilities and equipment. Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Director, the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic will be exposed to a wide variety of inspection, maintenance and repair projects, which require hard work, commitment to task, organization, and technical and problem solving skills to successfully complete. A commitment to good communication and customer service are essential. .
Under the supervision of the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs of structures, equipment, components, furniture and furnishings at City facilities and installations.

- Pay increases annually on July 1st and on your anniversary date!

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three years of experience in maintenance and repair.
- Working knowledge of landscaping, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry trades.
- Valid unrestricted Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Municipal experience is highly preferred.
