What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Inspector - Development Services position at City of Topeka?
This is an entry level inspection position that works to secure compliance with municipal ordinances and regulations governing the plumbing code. New and difficult situations may be referred to a supervisor, but the employee will usually work independently in the field after a short training period. Work is performed under direct supervision.
What youll do:
- Inspect residential and light commercial construction for compliance
- Follows up on inspections and violations to ensure compliance
- Investigates complaints
- Writes reports and letters
- Work with the public to help resolve concerns/problems
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas drivers license and city insurable driving record.
- Must be licensed by the City of Topeka as a plumbing journeyman
- Plumbing Inspectors certification required within 18 months of employment.
Entry rate of pay: $21.22 per hour
