CKD's Personal Care Assistants is Hiring a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Near Willimantic, CT
Hello! I am a 31yr old Art Director who happens to also live her life via a wheelchair due to having a type of Muscular Dystrophy called SMA. I tend to be stubbornly independent in most ways, but I do need assistance with the various tasks of daily living. Basically, I need someone to help me get up and ready for my day, and then back into bed at night.
I am looking for someone who is VERY reliable, dependable, AND has an AWESOME and FUN personality as we will be spending a lot of time together ;) Experience not necessarily required. More details below...
- PERSONAL CARE: transfers (*you must be able to comfortably lift 80lbs*) / showering / dressing, undressing / personal hygiene / toileting / positioning in bed and wheelchair / medication / etc.
- HOUSEHOLD: housekeeping (cleaning, dusting, vacuuming) / meal prep / laundry / paperwork / organizing / shredding / mail / etc.
- ANIMAL CARE (cats & dog): brushing / feeding / light grooming / cleaning up after / walking (dog)
- OTHER: Swimming (usually a 2hr block of time weekend mornings or evenings during the week - usually added onto the morning or night shift, but flexible) / car cleaning / post office / grocery pickup
HOURS approx. 6-12hrs/week depending on your availability. The possibility of gaining more hours over time is likely. Currently looking for both morning and night coverage, but mainly nights.
MORNING SHIFTS: approx. 3-4 hr long shift.
Weekday Start: 6:16/7AM
Weekend Start: 8:30/9:30AM
(subject to change to fluctuate at times)
NIGHT SHIFTS: approx. 2-3 hr long shift.
Typical Start Time: 9:30/10PM
(subject to change to fluctuate at times)
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $17.75 per hour
