SCADA Engineer
Location: Houston, TX (CES Remote Operations Center)

We are seeking a talented SCADA Engineer with expertise in N3uron and Ignition to join our team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and support SCADA systems for monitoring and controlling renewable energy assets, including solar and battery energy storage systems. This role requires a blend of technical skill, problem-solving ability, and passion for advancing renewable energy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Implementation:
- Develop and configure SCADA systems using N3uron / Ignition to integrate with renewable energy assets, including BESS, solar, and wind.
- Set up and manage communication protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and others for seamless data flow between field devices and SCADA systems.
- Monitoring & Analytics:
- Ensure the continuous and accurate collection, processing, and visualization of operational data into the CES Remote Operations Center.
- Collaborate with the data lake and analytics team to integrate SCADA data into predictive maintenance and performance optimization tools.
- System Maintenance & Support:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade SCADA infrastructure to ensure high reliability and availability.
- Optimize system performance by managing alarms, resolving network communication issues, and fine-tuning configurations.
- Integration & Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations, commissioning, and remote monitoring teams to deliver end-to-end SCADA solutions.
- Support the development of digital twins and integration with CMMS platforms for asset management.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure SCADA systems meet NERC CIP compliance standards and other relevant cybersecurity requirements.
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, and process workflows.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of experience in SCADA system development, with a focus on renewable energy applications preferred.
- Proven expertise in N3uron or Ignition configuration and deployment.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, etc.).
- Familiarity with monitoring, visualization, event tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and others.
- Hands-on experience with renewable energy assets (BESS, solar, or wind) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
