Nurse RN
Location: Getz
Schedule: Part-Time, Wed and Thu 10am-2pm
Pay: $40.75/hr
Clearbrook is a non-profit, social services agency specializing in providing innovative tools, services, and opportunities to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as Autism and Down Syndrome.
The Registered Nurse (RN) has the responsibility to render nursing services under the direction of the Director of Nursing and/or Physician. The RN provides the clients under her/his care with nursing services in accordance with their needs. The RN supervises the habilitation aides in the absence of other supervisory personnel.
Essential Functions:
1. Administer medications and/or treatments as ordered.
2. Provide training in habits in personal hygiene skills as seen necessary or as a follow
3. Participate as appropriate, in the planning and implementation of training of
facility personnel.
4. Detect signs of illness, dysfunction or maladaptive behavior that warrant medical,
nursing or psychological intervention.
5. Possess basic skills required to meet the health needs and problems of the clients.
6. Provide first aid in the presence of accident or illness.
7. Assist in completing monthly assignments which include:
- Vital signs and weights
- Nursing monthly summaries
- Annual summaries
8. Document services provided to the clients (e.g. bowel, bladder, etc.) and changes
in the resident's condition.
9. Follow behavior programs and document accordingly.
10. Transcribe physician's orders and document in appropriate areas.
11. Meet with the Medical Director (or his designee) on an ongoing basis.
12. Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in the absence of the D.O.N.
and Coordinators.
13. Participates in performance improvement studies and integrates performance
improvement standards in patient care activities.
14. Provide coverage at Developmental Training or other agency sites as needed.
15. Assist in the scheduling of nurses as needed.
16. Perform necessary managerial tasks in the absence of the Nursing Coordinator
and D.O.N.
17. It is the responsibility of the Registered Nurse to maintain confidentiality with all clients
and their families and maintain a professional image/role as a representative of the
agency.
18. Adhere to all policies and procedures established for Clearbrook, the Commons, and
those of all governing bodies.
19. Complete mandatory training annually.
20. Assist with filing on the day and midnight shifts.
21. Document significant medical issues about the residents on the com. log.
22. Perform any other duties as assigned. 23. Administers COVID19 Tests to staff and clients as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
Nursing Diploma - Required
Experience:
At least 1 year of related experience - Required
At least one year of experience working with people with disabilities - Preferred
Credentials/ Licensing:
Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois
