Part Time Staff Accountant

Function

The Part-Time Accounting Specialist is a detail-oriented person that processes payroll biweekly, files sales & use tax and assists with higher level complex accounting assignments. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.  This position will work 20-25 hours per week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Multi-Entity payroll processing – including tasks such as reviewing timesheets for accuracy, obtaining appropriate approvals, processing expense reimbursements and ensuring accuracy of paychecks
• Preparing and filing of sales & use tax returns
• Performing account reconciliations
• Reconciling inter-company transactions
• Assisting with researching and resolving complex vendor issues
• Performing additional duties and special projects, as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• 3-4 years of high-level accounting experience may substitute for education if applicant can demonstrate appropriate GAAP knowledge
• 1-2 years payroll experience preferred
• Proven performance in a similar accounting role required
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel
• Ability to work with accounting information for multiple entitles and multiple locations
• Highly organized and high attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-service orientation towards both internal and external customers
