What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Performance Nutrition position at Cleveland Browns?
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced Degree (Minimum Requirement):
- Bachelor's Degree in nutrition, dietetics, sports nutrition, or a related field.
- Master's Degree in sports nutrition, exercise physiology, or related field.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
- Board Certification in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
- Obtain a state licensure in Ohio within 30 days of hire
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Clinical Experience: Experience in medical nutrition therapy or working with athletes in a clinical or team setting.
- Sports Nutrition Experience: Minimum of two years working with collegiate athletes, professional athletes, or within athletic departments.
- Knowledge of fueling strategies, supplementation, clinical biochemistry, hydration, and recovery tactics.
- Ability to work collaboratively with athletes, coaches, strength and conditioning, sports science, trainers, and medical staff.
- Ability to collaborate with food service employees, performance chefs, and meal preparation service providers.
- Demonstrate proficiency in evaluating nutritional supplements' legality, safety, quality, and efficacy.
- Understanding diverse dietary preferences and restrictions.
- Possess expertise in injury prevention, recovery nutrition, and personalized meal planning. Assist in creating meal plans, catering events, & hotel menus.
- Other responsibilities, as communicated by the Director of Sports Nutrition, may include, but are not limited to, stocking, cleaning, & food service prep.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Certified Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (LXMO)
- Candidate must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Oversee fuel bar operations- including inventory, ordering, & stocking.
- Develop educational content
- Must be available to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, & holidays
- Must be able to travel for extended periods for games, professional development summits, and other events upon request.
- Maintain current on research and innovations in sports nutrition and dietetics.
- Demonstrate success in improving athlete performance through data-driven nutrition strategies.
